OK, the guy in the picture is Rex at the New York Fancy Food Show in our first year of business.  Yes that is a trough of Crunch (weighed in at about 26 lbs!).

The History of Crunch:

For as long as I can remember, my grandmother, Jobyna, fed us a blend of peanuts, pretzels, and cereal she called Gravel.  Years later, after relocating to Vermont, I was unable to obtain the nessecarry volume of Gravel from her.  I eventually asked for the recipe, and three years and a few Vermont twists and turns later, we're featured on the Food Network!  What a ride!

With Jobyna's recipe, we began making Gravel for friends.  At their insistance, we began making Gravel in larger quantities to feed their new addiction.  In ordering the white chocolate we also invested in other flavors - because if the white chocolate is good, then the dark must be amazing!  Eventually, we developed four flavors and yet had no name for any with the exception of Gravel.

About that time I was the Assistant Town Clerk for the town of Jericho, VT.  Sitting in my office I overhear the foreman of the Highway Department mention that Nashville Road needs a load of gravel.  My first thought was that I too could use a load of Gravel.  He also mentioned how the ashpalt is peeling over here and the mud is bad over there and someone should probably brind a load of sand too.  It hit me like a ton of bricks.  I told the Town Clerk that I had to leave and ran home to tell my wife.  Road Crew Crunch was born with four products:  Asphalt, Gravel, Mud, and Sand!  The whole thing was so outrageous that the name stuck: Rex's Outrageous.  We made labels, stuck them to a few bags and headed to the Jericho Center Country Store, and the rest is history!
